Such a sad story and the information seems to be coming out slowly about what happened to this young boy.
Last week, 17 year old Sheridan High School student Austin Moody was shot and killed. Now the Grant County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help.
On Thursday morning, deputies were on a stretch of State Highway 35 North near the Palestine Missionary Baptist Church trying to gather information from drivers who travel the road on a daily basis.
The sheriff claims they will make an arrested in the near future, but would not give a timetable for that arrest. He did not name a suspect at this time as they want to be "very thorough" in their search.
The Grant County Sheriff's Department said they would like to hear from anyone who travels the road regularly. They are hoping someone will have knowledge of anyone who has had a flat tire in the area within the last month.
If you have any information about the murder or vehicle, you are advised to contact the Grant County Sheriff's Department at 870-942-2101.
Austin Moody worked at Sonic during the summer and was an accomplished athlete, winning a world title in 2008 in taekwondo. He was a high school football player, hard worker, and an active church and community member.
