A missing 15-year-old girl from Chicago was sexually assaulted, police said Tuesday, and making it all more horrific, the incident was broadcast on Facebook Live.
Hours after the assault, the girl was found, according to Chicago police spokesman Anthony Gugliemi, who added that investigators were "working around the clock" to find the victim after her relatives witnessed her being assaulted by several boys on the live video platform.
The girl's mother, Stacey Elkins, said, "I just want to make sure she's OK cause I know she's probably scared and embarrassed. I just want her back home." (New York Post)
Do people do more stupid things now because of social media, or were they doing them all along and we just see more of it now?
It's horrible the victim and her family had to go through that, but the video might help catch the perpetrators.
