A Rogers High School student was arrested this morning for bringing an unloaded handgun to school in his backpack.
The 15-year-old student was told by a teacher to report to the office this morning (Wednesday), after standing outside of the school. A school official found the gun after searching the boys backpack.
At that point, the student ran from the school, but was found shortly after nearby. The boy was arrested.
Keith Foster with the Rogers Police Department, said in a press release, "It should be noted that nothing in the investigation so far has shown that the student displayed the firearm or that he intended to use the weapon on campus."
No ammunition was found in the bag.
