For most brides, the wedding dress is something they wear once and then surrender it to the attic or closet where it will remain for eternity.
But that's not the case for Janith Goedde of Indiana. The 80-year-old and her husband, Joe, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary yesterday (Thursday). A couple of weeks earlier, they celebrated their anniversary with family and friends and one of them suggested that Janith try on her wedding dress, which she had stored away in a plastic bag inside her attic.
Janith was game and agreed to try on the dress. She was shocked to look in the mirror and see that after 60 years, the dress still fit. Not only that, it was still white and looked as nice as it did on her wedding day.
Her husband Joe agreed and said, "She still looks beautiful." The dress cost Janith $69.95 when she bought it in 1957. (Good Morning America)
