Where to find Christmas light displays in central Arkansas

Holiday events, light displays in central Arkansas for 2018


THV11 has put together an awesome list of holiday events and light displays in central Arkansas for 2018! 

From Santa sightings to Christmas lights and other special events, THV11 compiled a list so you and your family don’t miss out on anything this holiday season!

November 24

Illuminate

"Illuminate is Conway’s newest family tradition during the holidays. On Small Business Saturday spend the day in downtown Conway visiting unique boutiques and fabulous restaurants. In the afternoon, Illuminate will feature pictures with Santa, Ferris Wheel rides, horse and carriage rides, miniature train rides, and the lighting of Arkansas's tallest Christmas tree."

At the Conway Chamber of Commerce from 3 - 9 p.m.

Northern Lights Festival

Cast members from the Argenta Community Theater’s production of Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol will be in costume for pictures. There will be holiday music, craft booths, food trucks, face painting and Christmas carolers. The Christmas Market is brought to you in part by Arvest Bank.

In the Argenta Arts District in North Little Rock from 5 - 7 p.m.

Loblolly Holiday Preview Party

"Join us at the Loblolly Scoop Shop for a special, drop-in preview of our Holiday flavors. Be the first to try a flight of 8-holiday flavors coming out this Winter 2018, along with mini macarons, hot cocoa bar, cookies, our house-made marshmallows, and sweet gift shopping in our beautiful Scoop Shop space in SoMa."

At Loblolly Creamery from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Tickets range from $20 to $35.

Nov. 26 - Dec. 30

Enchanted Forest Trail of Lights

"Sherwood's Enchanted Forest Trail of Lights is a drive-thru trail with the entrance located at the Sherwood Sports Complex, 511 Bear Paw Road. It opens the Monday after Thanksgiving and runs through Dec. 30 from 6-9:30 p.m. The gates to the Sports Complex will close at 9:30 p.m. to allow ample time for the vehicles within the parking lot gates to make it through the trail."

At the Sherwood Sports Complex from 6 - 9:30 p.m. Admission is free, but nonperishable items are welcome.

November 30 - December 2

Arkansas Craft Guild Christmas Showcase

"This holiday shopping extravaganza features quality art and fine crafts, both traditional and contemporary, by members of the Arkansas Craft Guild and their guests. Over 100 artists offer a unique array of fine handcrafted work at the Christmas Showcase including pottery, woodworking, fiber art, glass, photography, jewelry, gourmet foods, and much more."

At the Arkansas State Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $5.


November 30 - December 2

Toy Hill Weekend 2018

"Starting November 30th at 5pm, join the Marine Corps Reserve along with the iHeartMedia family of stations for live music, car shows, food, the FOP parade, Motorcycle parade, First Responders parade and lots more entertainment for the family at the Outlets of Little Rock just off of I-30! More 

Donations need to be new, unwrapped toys for boys or girls, and can be dropped off at the iHeartMedia Studios (10800 Colonel Glenn Rd., Little Rock) prior to the event!"

At the Outlets of Little Rock at 5 p.m. on Friday, 12:30 p.m. on Saturday and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.

December 1

Bells, Baa-aas & Brunch

Don your holiday sweaters and join us for a festive day of Bells, Baa-aas and Brunch — along with moos, oinks and clucks. Our annual open house will be held at the Heifer International Campus in downtown Little Rock. This is a FREE family-friendly event, but donations are welcome.

At Heifer Village and Urban Farm in Little Rock from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Santa Paws

"Join us as we celebrate another year of saving lives with the Little Rock Animal Village. As always there will be great food, an open bar, a fabulous silent auction with one of a kind items, and entertainment! Your ticket purchase will come with a pass for any of our 2019 low-cost microchip events at Bass Pro Shops, allowing you to have your pets microchipped for free at the event of your choice!"

At Trapnall Hall in Little Rock, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are available online.

Sherwood Christmas Parade

"The City of Sherwood will host its annual Christmas parade at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018. The theme of this year’s parade will be Inside Santa's Workshop. Milas Hale Sr. will be the parade’s Grand Marshal."

The parade will begin at the intersection of Kiehl Avenue and Lantrip Road and will continue west down Kiehl Avenue. It will end at the intersection of Kiehl and Oakbrooke Drive.

Rat Pack Christmas

"The show critics are calling “Extremely strong and hugely entertaining” is coming to town with holiday swing! Enjoy those swingin’ Rat Pack tunes along with all your Christmas favorites. In this fun, entertaining and touching holiday show, “Someday at Christmas with Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack” includes classic songs written by legendary songwriter, Ron Miller – and shares the holiday spirit in festive Rat Pack style!"

2018 Big Jingle Jubilee Parade

On Saturday, December 1, beginning at Second and Broadway, the Holiday parade will start at 3:00 PM and travel south on Broadway, turn west onto Capitol Avenue and end at the State Capitol. The lighting and fireworks display will follow at dark or approximately 6:00 PM. This event is free and open to the public.

December 2

Reindeer on the River

"Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen…Rudolf! Join us in the River Market Pavilions to meet, greet and take pictures with two of the reindeer crew. Who will be there? You’ll have to attend to find out!"

At the Little Rock River Market from 12 - 5 p.m. The event is FREE.

51st Annual Christmas Frolic

"The Frolic celebrates Christmas as it was in the 1800s with living history, carols, reenactments, live music, dancing and more. Visitors come from across Arkansas each year to sample Historic Arkansas Museum’s famous hot cider and ginger cake, and to shop for unique Arkansas-made holiday gifts in the Museum Store."

At the Historic Arkansas Museum in Little Rock from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is free.

North Little Rock Christmas Parade

"The North Little Rock Sertoma Club, the City of North Little Rock - Government and the North Little Rock CVB invite you to the annual North Little Rock Sertoma Christmas Parade! The parade is free and will go down Main Street from Pershing to the North Little Rock City Services building."

The parade will go down Main Street in North Little Rock from 2 - 3 p.m.

Reindeer on the River

"Join us at this FREE event in the River Market Pavilions to meet, greet and take pictures with two of the reindeer crew. Who will be there? You’ll have to attend to find out!"

At the Little Rock River Market from noon - 5 p.m. Admission is free.

December 6

Bernice Garden Tree Lighting

"The event opens with Booker T. Washington Elementary School and Dunbar Middle School choirs singing our favorite holiday carols. After their performance, students will help lead the community in the countdown to light up the tree. The ladies of the Trust Tree organization will be hosting a craft table so participants can take home a bit of holiday spirit. There will be delicious treats to eat and yummy hot drinks to sip as you enjoy the evening! SoMa’s beloved Cosmo, as well as Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will make appearances."

The festivities begin at 5 p.m. and the Tree Lighting Ceremony ends around 7 p.m. SoMa neighborhood businesses will stay open until 8 p.m. for SoMa Holiday Open House.

"Join in the festivities of the season at events up and down South Main as businesses stay open late hosting art shows, refreshments and holiday cheer! And be sure not to miss the annual Tree Lighting ceremony in the Bernice Garden!"

Down South Main in Little Rock from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tree lighting will be at the Bernice Garden.

A Very Merry Science After Dark: Jingle Booze

"Fa la la la la la la la Science After Dark! We don't normally host Science After Dark in December but the spirit of the season just got a hold of us. Jingle Booze will be like your office holiday party but, like, a million times better (unless Daryl from HR comes.) Think ugly sweater contests, Drinko, liquid nitrogen eggnog ice cream and more! You must be at least 21 to enter."

At the Museum of Discovery from 6 - 9 p.m. Tickets are $10.

December 7 - 9

Holiday Concerts at the Old State House Museum

"The Arkansas Chamber Singers will delight the audience with many traditional carols and songs of the season and include an equal number of secular and sacred texts and promises to be the highlight of the holiday season."

At The Old State House Museum in Little Rock at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 3 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are free, but must be reserved.

The Nutcracker

"Central Arkansas' largest holiday production, The 40th Anniversary Nutcracker Spectacular features more than 250 local children and adults, 2 choral ensembles, the musicians of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, and the professional dancers of Ballet Arkansas."

At the Robinson Performance Hall in Little Rock at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night, 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets available here.

December 8

Mistletoe Madness

"Visitors will find fabulous Holiday specials during the day at our shops and restaurants, as well as unique holiday attractions, including a giant Ferris Wheel, horse-drawn carriage rides, mini train rides, and performances by local elementary choirs in Simon Park."

At Downtown Conway shops from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

December 8 & 15

Holidays in the Wild

"Join Santa and some of his animal friends in Cafe Africa for a photo opportunity. Enjoy a breakfast or lunch buffet and create holiday crafts. Immediately following, join Santa as he delivers gifts to some of our animals in the zoo!"

At the Cafe Africa in the Little Rock Zoo, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. both days. Tickets are available online.

December 12

Celtic Angels Christmas

"Produced in Ireland, ‘Celtic Angels Christmas’ will enrapture audiences with the magic of encompasses vocal and instrumental seasonal favorites alongside Irish, contemporary and original Christmas themes…all with a Celtic twist. If you have never heard ‘Ding Dong Merrily on High’ performed as a toe tapping instrumental reel or In Dulci Jubilo as a Irish jig then you’re in for a quite a treat!"

14th Ever Nog-Off

"Paving the way for “knock-off Nog-offs” across the country, the very first Nog-off ever is celebrating its 14th year! The original Nog-off, the friendly competition for the best eggnog in town, is back with some familiar and winning favorites, along with new competitors hoping to make their culinary mark."

At the Historic Arkansas Museum in Little Rock from 5 - 8 p.m. Admission is free.

December 15

Christmas Karaoke

5th Annual Christmas Karaoke benefiting The Van. Head on down to Stickyz Rock ‘N’ Roll Chicken Shack for some karaoke for a good cause. Crazy Christmas getup is encouraged.

At Stickyz Rock 'N' Roll Chicken Shack from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Cocoa & Carols

"Join us for this family event with book readings, hot cocoa and gingerbread, holiday crafts, music provided by the Dunbar Magnet Middle School choir, a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Clause, and more."

At the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center in Little Rock from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
