Thanksgiving might be all about pie, but Christmas is all about cookies! And if you’ve got a cookie exchange or gifts to bake, Pinterest has you covered. They’ve recently announced the most popular holiday cookie recipe on the site for 2018, and it’s anything but traditional.
This year’s most popular holiday cookie recipe is M&M’s Christmas Cookie Bars. The great thing about these treats is you don’t need to be great at decorating or baking to make them. It’s simply a chocolate chip cookie base with white chocolate morsels and holiday M&M’s. Prepare them flat like brownies and cut them into bars when done. Yum. (Country Living)

- 1 cup of mini chocolate chips plus more for topping
- 1/2 cup of white chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Line a 9x13 baking dish with foil, leave some overhang to make removal easier.

In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until fluffy.
Add in eggs and vanilla extract and continue to beat.
Lower speed of mixer and add flour, baking soda and salt and mix until combined.

Transfer cookie dough to prepared baking dish.
Press additional M&M'S, mini chocolate chips and white chocolate chips into top of cookie dough.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes on oven rack in lower third of oven to prevent over browning.
