Teachers Pay, the top five and bottom five states....YIKES!

There’s no doubt being a teacher isn’t an easy job, and it’s certainly one of the most important ones out there since they are shaping the minds of young children. But we know all too well that in some parts of the country, teachers just aren’t being paid the salaries they deserve. So, which states are doing the best, and worst, job at compensating their teachers?

Well, a new GoBankingRates.com report finds that teachers in Alaska and New York are bringing home the biggest salaries, earning almost double the pay as teachers in Mississippi and Oklahoma, where teachers are paid the least amount in the nation.

Teachers in Alaska bring home, on average, $77,843 a year, while New York teachers earn $76,593. On the other end of the spectrum, teachers in Mississippi are making only $42,043 a year, while those in Oklahoma take home only $42,647.
