NASHVILLE NEWS: Carrie Underwood

posted by Jake McBride -

Carrie Underwood hasn't mounted a major tour since 2016, but there's a light at the end of the tunnel for the fans who are dying to see her live: She's announced a massive, in-the-round tour for 2019!

Underwood revealed her 2019 Cry Pretty Tour 360 on Wednesday morning (Aug. 8), via Twitter. The trek will begin on May 1, in Greensboro, N.C.; a plethora of dates are scheduled through Oct. 31, when the trek is scheduled to conclude in Detroit, Mich. A full list of stops is below.

"We had so much fun in the round on the last tour, 'cause I got to be closer to you guys and see your beautiful faces ...," Underwood explained, "so I am so excited to be doing another brand-new, 360-degree show."

Underwood is waiting until May of 2019 to begin her Cry Pretty Tour 360 because she's expecting! In the same social media video, the singer shared that she is pregnant with her second child; her first child with husband Mike Fisher, their son Isaiah, was born in February of 2015.

Maddie & Tae and Runaway June will be on the road with Underwood in 2019. Tickets for the tour will go on sale on Aug. 17, with a pre-sale beginning on Aug. 13; visit CarrieUnderwoodOfficial.com for all the details.

After a busy 2016 spent mostly on tour, Underwood largely stepped away from the spotlight in 2017. The country superstar says it was a year full of reflection -- and some personal struggles: "Life is full of ups and downs," Underwood admits, "and I might have had a few more downs than ups last year."

Underwood is currently preparing for the release of her next album, Cry Pretty; the project is due out on Sept. 14. Also this fall, Underwood will return as the voice of the Sunday Night Football opening theme song and will be co-hosting the 2018 CMA Awards, with Brad Paisley, for the 11th consecutive year.
