Fun ways brides are using their wedding dress after the big day!

Finding the perfect wedding dress isn’t easy, so if you do, it seems like such a shame to only get to wear it once. And considering that the average cost of a wedding gown is $1,631, according to a recentpollby The Knot, it would be nice to get some more mileage from that frock. Well, it turns out, some married women are finding fun ways to get new life out of their old dresses.

Check out how some women found a way to say yes to the dress once again:

  • Turned mom’s gown into a mini-Tori Sheridan’smom saved her wedding dress for her daughter to wear one day, but it was an ‘80s gown with poofy sleeves and a look she wasn’t into. So she had a seamstress work her magic on it, turning the hand-me-down into a mini dress to wear to her bridal shower.
  • Channeled a classic Guns N’ Roses video- Hard-rock fanSandy Romanhad her wedding gown turned into a duplicate of the dressStephanie Seymourrocked in the band’s “November Rain” video and wore it to a GNR-themed fundraiser party.
  • Made a flower girl dress with it- WhenJennifer Vanderslice’sdaughter didn’t want to rewear her perfectly preserved wedding gown when she tied the knot, she had it turned into a dress for her niece, a flower girl, to wear.
  • Lived out her Pokemon fantasy- A cosplay-loving former bride,Anna Good, reworked her wedding dress to make it a costume she wore to the Kikori Con Anime convention. She did some alterations to the gown and used it to dress up as the character Dragonair from the Pokemon TV series.
  • Turned it into a top- The dressCharly Rokwore when she said “I do” was actually two pieces and she now wears the top as a bustier and had the long, full skirt transformed into a miniskirt. She says she had no intention of only wearing her wedding look once and now she’s worn both pieces separately many times and loves them.
