About Jason Isbell:

Jason Isbell is a relentless artist, racking up numerous achievements in 2018 including Best American Roots Song at the Grammys for “If We Were Vampires,” 2018 UK Americana Awards International Album of the Year forThe Nashville Sound and Duo/Group of the Year with Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit by the Americana Music Honors & Awards.

Isbell has a gift for taking big, messy human experiences and compressing them into combustible packages made of rhythm, melody and madly efficient language. The songs are full of little hooks—it could be guitar line that catches one listener, or a quick lyric that strikes to the heart of another—and an act of transference takes place. The stories Isbell tells become our own. The music is coming not from Isbell and the band, but from within us.
