Financial goals for 2020!

Now that we’ve entered a new decade, a lot of people have special money goals they hope to achieve in the next ten years, and according to a new poll, many are confident they’ll get their.

The survey finds:

  • 70% of Americans are optimistic about achieving their financial goals by 2030, and some of them have some lofty ones.
  • Top financial goals for the next ten years include:
    • Be totally debt free (56%)
    • Buy a house (51%)
    • Take dream vacation (40%)
    • Pay off student loans (39%)
    • Get married (38%)
    • Be financially independent (36%)
    • Have children (34%)
    • Living by myself (29%)
    • Retiring (21%)

But there are also plenty of people who aren’t necessarily looking long term, and are more focused on goals for 2020. In fact:

  • 44% have specific financial goals in mind for 2020
  • 63% are “very confident” their New Years financial goals will become a reality.
  • The top financial goals for 2020 include:
    • Putting more in savings from my paycheck (51%)
    • Eating out less (51%)
    • Canceling unnecessary subscriptions (47%)
    • Less online shopping (43%)
    • Cable cutting (40%)
    • Cut back on grocery spending (32%)
    • Use less utilities (30%)
    • Less online gaming (29%)
    • Skip buying coffee (22%)
    • Pack lunch (21%)
