What’s one thing that pretty much every mom wishes she had more of? Time! We’re so busy with play time, meal time, bath time, work time, and bedtime, we run out of room for “me time.” But just because alone time may be a thing of the past - since little kids goeverywherewith you, even to the bathroom - sometimes you still just need five minutes to yourself.
If you happen to find yourself with a luxurious five minutes to spare, instead of scrolling through social media on your phone, why not turn it into quality “me time?” Here are a few ideas for how to make it happen.
- Get some fresh air- With the kids safely occupied, step outside for a sec. Just close your eyes and breathe in the fresh air and take in the great outdoors. And if you can’t leave your kids alone for five, try opening a window for the fresh air.
- Embrace nap time- Moms tend to try to get as much done during nap time as is humanly possible, but it’s good to take five, or even 30, to get some much-needed rest of your own.
- Turn up the tunes- While you’re cleaning the house, try turning up your favorite dance music and rocking out. It’ll make doing the chores more fun and you’ll get some cardio in, too.
- Try some self-care- No time for skin care these days? Put on a face mask while you’re doing the dishes or laundry and your skin will thank you.
- Go for a walk- Get out the stroller and take yourself and the kids for a walk. The fresh air, sunshine and physical activity will give your body and mind a boost, and your little ones will like it, too.
