Springdale reacts to COVID-19

City of Springdale on COVID-19 virus Springdale, AR –

The City of Springdale will continue monitoring the information concerning COVID-19 carefully. We are following the guidelines provided by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention along with Arkansas Department of Health. Our goal during this event is to continue to move Springdale forward while protecting our residents and City employees. We will continue rendering City services to our residents. City Hall will remain open and continue to conduct regularly scheduled public meetings, such as City Council and Planning Commission. The administration will reassess procedures as developments change. We ask for your patience and flexibility, as we all work together and support one another, through this temporary situation. Be sure to check our website, and social media pages, for updates regarding City activities: www.springdalear.gov/COVID-19 Please see below for specific departmental updates: We understand this situation is not ideal and apologize for any inconvenience it may cause, but the public's health and the health of our staff are our priority. Please feel free to contact any of our departments during this time with any questions or concerns. Emergency Services: These services will continue to operate as they always do. Police and Fire Departments will continue to monitor the situation and take extra precautions as they perform their duties. Springdale Parks and Recreation: Springdale Parks and Recreation will cancel all scheduled and structured activities through Sunday, March 29. This includes all practices, clinics, facility rentals and tournaments/events. The Springdale Recreation Center will remain open to members. On Monday, March 30th, the Springdale Parks and Recreation department will reassess and announce further plans. For more information, contact Springdale Parks and Recreation at (479) 750-8185 Senior Center: Beginning Monday, March 16, the Senior Center will be closed to activities until March 31 - they will then re-evaluate current conditions and take appropriate action. Meals on Wheels will continue to serve residents during this time. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Senior Center at (479) 751-1521. Shiloh Museum: Effective Monday, March 16, the Shiloh Museum will be closed to the public and is suspending programs, events, public meeting room use, and outreach through the end of April. We will continue to monitor the situation and plan to determine in mid-April when to resume programming and reopen the museum. We want to provide adequate notice to the organizers of the more than fifty meetings and events scheduled at the museum through the end of April. While the museum is closed, we encourage you to visit the museum's website to read about regional history, check out our podcast programs, and read our blog posts. And since museum staff members will continue to work during the closure, researchers may continue to call or email the museum with questions about our regional history. Springdale Public Library: Effective immediately all Library sponsored events have been suspended. Programs scheduled by outside groups, will be allowed to continue, at their discretion.
