Have you done a "digital spring cleaning"? Might be a good time to do one!

If you’re getting your Marie Kondo on and cleaning up your place, don’t forget to do your digital space as well. When is that last time you went through your laptop, phone, or tablet, and cleared out all the crap you don’t use anymore? Is the answer ‘never?’Now is the time! Here are some tips for a great digital cleanse.

  • Clear out your photos folder. Do you still have fireworks pictures from the fourth of July? From 2012?If you’re a photo hoarder, it’s time to clear out those galleries so you can actually find the pictures you want to show off without having to scroll, and scroll, and scroll some more. You might just say big bucks on all that cloud space you’re using for memes.
  • Hit unsubscribe.Let’s be real, if your email was a legit mailbox, your front yard would just be a three-foot thick mess of ads and newsletters. Take a little time to unsubscribe from all those emails you never read. Scroll to the bottom and find the button to let them know you’re good.
  • Delete your downloads. After you’re done with that mess of a Desktop you’ve got, check your downloads folder. There’s a good chance you’ve got a pile of things you didn’t mean to download, duplicate files, or things you’ve already moved to another. Help your hard drive lose some weight. It is almost beach season after all.
