Do you feel safe going back to the office?

With more and more states reopening after the coronavirus quarantine, some folks are going to have to give up working from home and head to the office. But it turns out a lot of people aren’t really okay with that yet.

A new survey finds:

  • Only 31% Americans believe they have gotten enough information from the government to feel safe enough to return to work.
  • Only 23% say that about their employers.
  • 54% of Americans are still too fearful of contracting the disease to return to the office.
  • Another 47% doubt that socially distancing while at work is going to happen.
  • Not surprising, one third of workers say they’d rather continue working remotely.

And it’s not just work folks are skeptical about.

  • 59% believe the economic impact of the disease will last at least a year or longer, up from 36% in April.
  • 61% say they don’t expect to feel comfortable spending money on airlines or travel until at least 2021.
    • Another 57% won’t spend money on luxury goods.
    • 44% won’t spend money on tech or gadgets.
    • 41% doubt they’ll spend money on restaurants and entertainment.
    • 35% aren’t likely to shell out money on clothing/apparel.
