Not to put too much pressure on you, but if you don’t nail down your kissing technique, you just might be single forever. A recent survey found 59% of men and 66% of women will straight up end a relationship because of a bad kiss. And since the rona’ has the single folks out of practice, here’s some Kissing 101 tips to help you nail your first post-quarantine kiss.
- Keep Your Lips Moisturized. Do you know who likes kissing people with chapped lips? No one, that’s who. Keep your mouth nice and moisturized with lip balm or if you’re in a pinch, sip some water. The less you make your boo feel like they’re smooching a reptile the better.
- Avoid Pungent Foods Before A Kiss. What do garlic, raw onions, cabbage, broccoli, coffee, and liquor have in common? They’re delicious and they’re all things that should be fully avoided if you know there is a makeout session in your future. Here’s a quick hack if you’re out to eat and you end up with a plate of something particularly pungent. Ask your server for a slice of lemon, and drop it in your water because citrus can neutralize bad breath
- Follow Your Partner’s Lead. Much like a good relationship, one of the keys to a great kiss is compromise and figuring out how to give and take. Try letting your partner lead the way until you’ve got a good grasp of their technique. Then throw in some of your own moves and show them what you like. And remember, no two kissers are the same. If your bae is a timid kisser, you might just need to take the lead yourself and show them how it’s done.
