CORONAVIRUS: U.S. Agrees to Buy Vaccine
Your chances of getting a shot in the arm just got a shot in the arm.
The U.S. government has agreed to pay Pfizer and BioNTech $2 billion for 100 million doses of one of the four vaccines they're jointly developing, assuming it's safe and effective. The agreement also gives the government the option to buy up to 500 million more doses.
The companies expect to start a large-scale trial of one of the vaccines on up to 30,000 people next month, pending regulatory approval.
