COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME: New Members Announced
Congratulations go out to Hank Williams Junior, Marty Stuart and Dean Dillon. They'll be the newest members of theCountry Music Hall of Fame.
Hank, best known for his rowdy, boot-stomping anthems to the country lifestyle, represents the veterans era of artists, while Marty, who rose to fame in the 1990s with hits like "Hillbilly Rock" and his collaborations with Travis Tritt, is the candidate in the modern era.
Dean, who had his own recording career in the early 1980s, represents the songwriter category. He helped pen hits for George Strait, including "The Chair," "Ocean Front Property," and "If I Know Me." He also co-wrote "Tennessee Whiskey" for David Allan Coe, which was re-recorded by Chris Stapleton.
A date for the official medallion ceremony will be announced later.
