Dorm life 2020: here are some tips!

Living in a dorm was tough enough when there was just the shared bathrooms to worry about. But now with COVID, you’ve got to go the extra mile to make sure you’re protected as you head back to school. Here are some tips on how to maximize your safety.

  • Keep up the hygiene. Don’t forget the basics.Basic hygiene that is.Keep on washing those hands every time you’ve touched something you’re unsure of and hand sanitizer when you’re away from a sink. Also, now is not the time to start touching your face again.
  • Masks and distancing. Face masks are like underwear. You should have more than one pair, wash them often, and don’t share. And remember, they only work if you’re wearing them correctly, so just like your parents may have taken you to get a new pair of shoes for back to school, make sure you’re treating yourself to some new masks that you won’t have to adjust constantly. You’re going to need them when you’re outside of your room.
  • Community spaces. You can’t avoid using the communal bathroom forever but it’s probably best to hit it up during off times. So while everyone else is grabbing lunch, you should grab a shower. The less time spent in crowds the better.Looking at you, frat parties.
