BEE GEES: HBO Documentary Debuts in December
The Bee Gees documentary will debut on HBO December 12th.
How Can You Mend a Broken Heart, directed by Frank Marshall (whose credits include Seabiscuit and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), chronicles the music and lives of Barry, Maurice and Robin Gibb, who went on to write more than 1000 songs, including 20 that reached number-one.
We can expect revealing interviews with oldest brother Barry, archival conversations with his late twin brothers Robin and Maurice, plus never-before-seen footage of recording sessions, concert and TV appearances and home videos. The impression collection of fellow artists sharing insights include Eric Clapton, who suggested they begin recording in Miami, as he did -- Lulu, who was once married to Maurice Gibb, Noel Gallagher, Nick Jonas, Chris Martin, Justin Timberlake and producer Mark Ronson.
As 1997 inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Bee Gees had the knack of reinventing themselves from Beatles-like '60s harmonists, to leaders in the dance music craze of the '70s, then writer-producers who collaborated with other A-listers during the '80s.
The Bee Gees documentary is set to premiere on HBO in December.
