How to Tell if Someone is Lying in 5 Simple Steps

I love the TV show Lie To Me that aired on Fox. Tim Roth was brilliant in it. It was all about the science of detecting a liar.
Spent last night finding simple tips that could help you determine if someone is lying and you don't have to be Cal Lightman (Tim Roth's character) to figure it out.

Bonus: I've included a trailer for the show I'm talking about below. I'm not sure where you can watch it, but if you find out send me a message HERE

There are many ways to tell if someone is lying to you, but some are more obvious than others. Here are five tips to help you spot a liar:

1. Watch their body language. Liars will often avoid eye contact and fidget with their hands or feet.

2. Listen for inconsistencies in their story. liars will often change their story or give contradictory statements.

3. Pay attention to what they're not saying. Oftentimes, liars will avoid answering certain questions or will give vague responses.

4. Look for signs of stress. Liars will often exhibit physical signs of stress, such as sweating, blushing, or a rapid heartbeat.

5. Use your intuition. Sometimes you just know when someone is lying to you. Trust your gut instinct and you may be able to detect deceit even when the person is trying to conceal it.

So now that you know how to spot a liar, what should you do if you think someone is trying to deceive you? The best thing to do is remain calm and collected and ask more questions. If the person is lying, they'll likely get more nervous and give themselves away. If the person is telling the truth, they'll likely be more cooperative and answer your questions honestly. Either way, by using these tips, you'll be better equipped to figure out what's really going on.
