Downtown Fayetteville Coalition (DFC) has released new details about the inaugural Fayetteville Strawberry Festival, a free community event planned for Sunday, May 19th from noon to 6 p.m. in the historic downtown square.
“DFC is excited to organize unique and distinctive downtown events such as the Fayetteville Strawberry Festival that celebrate the personality and culture of our beautiful city,” said Kelly Rich, Executive Director of DFC.
The Fayetteville Strawberry Festival will be the city’s kick-off to summer and will showcase local food, music, art, and of course, strawberries! The streets will be filled with fun for all ages including a dog parade, pie-eating AND pie-baking competitions, food and art demonstrations, a honky tonk street dance, and even a pop-up skatepark.
Entertainment is planned all day and can be found on two stages, scheduled as follows:

·1:00-1:30 p.m. - Hounds Lounge Paw-ty Parade with the NOLA Brass Band

·3:00-4:00 p.m. - Jumpsuit Jamey and the Can’t Wait to Playboys
·4:30-6:00 p.m. - Gone Country

Arkansas breweries will be selling beer on the street with proceeds going to Arkansas Brewers Guild, which represents native brewers across the state. Breweries scheduled to attend include Gravity Beer Works, Fossil Cove Brewing Co., Ozark Beer Co, Point Remove Brewing, Natural State Brewing, Bentonville Brewing, Fayetteville Beer Works, and Flyway Brewing. There will be food demonstrations and art activations set up all afternoon around the Square and down Block Ave next to over 25 art vendors on Meadow Street selling handmade and locally made items.
You’ll also find several downtown businesses set up with their own celebrations and offerings including:
- Reagan Family Farms will be selling fresh strawberries on the square.
- Atlas is hosting a patio party with a DJ and a special lunch menu.
- World Treasures will have Dyes by Rachel out front making tie-dye shirts.
- Pinpoint, Maxine’s, Big Box Karaoke, and Jammin’ Java will be partnering with Reigncane Vodka to make special summer cocktails for the attendees.
- Theo’s will be on site with their food truck selling some southern favorites including homemade strawberry ice cream.
- Arkansas Roller Skate Crew will have a pop-up skate park and free skates available for attendees.
- There will be a free make-and-take art activity led by crochet artist, Gina Gallina.
- Wild Brush will have free face painting set up inside their store.
- New children’s business, Madeline’s, will have a summer backdrop for photos as well as balloons and a raffle.
- Pink House Alchemy will be on the square demonstrating and sampling non-alcoholic cocktails using their house-made syrups.
- Fayetteville Public Library’s kitchen crew will be leading food demonstrations all afternoon in the Arvest Plaza.
- City Supply will be highlighting their local Fayetteville partners inside the store.
- B-Unlimited will have on-site screen printing in their parking lot.
- The Folk School will host a Pickin’ and Grinnin’ Party and Square Dance on their front lawn.
- Plenty of local non-profits will be joining us including Community Creative Center’s Wheel Mobile, City of Fayetteville’s Parks and Rec, and Big Paws of the Ozarks.
