Fire crews are on the scene of a massive fire at United Industries, a plastic manufacturer, in Bentonville. Reports claim that explosions can be heard coming from the plant. An Emergency Alert was sent out to warn area residents that there could be potentially harmful fumes coming from the smoke and that precautions should be taken to avoid inhalation. Recesses have been cancelled at nearby schools as a safety measure as well.
Government officals say that the smoke could be toxic and require evacuations of nearby homes and businesses, including the Benton County Courthouse.
