Naomi Cooke Johnson shared “a rare pregnancy vid” on her Instagram story on Tuesday (November 28), baring her baby bump toward the end of her pregnancy. The former Runaway June lead vocalist, who recently made her solo debut, welcomed her first child with husband Martin Johnson earlier this year.
Cooke Johnson wrote in a caption on her Instagram story that she was 41 weeks and five days pregnant at the time the video was filmed. She added that, “I really do miss my pregnant belly sometimes. I personally loved being pregnant. I still can’t believe I grew a person like a little tomato on a vine. The female body is truly a miraculous and unique wonder.”
The “Girls Of Summer” star and her husband, the frontman of The Night Game and Boys Like Girls, welcomed their baby earlier this year. Cooke Johnson was “quiet” about her pregnancy online, but shared several photos and her birth story in a post on Instagram on June 15.
“I started off with a planned home water birth. Me and 9 of my siblings were born at home, 5 of us in a bath tub, and it was important to me to give my child a similar birth experience,” she shared at the time. “After an unexpected 60 hours of labor, complications arose and I ended up delivering at the hospital.
“I’m in awe of both ancient and modern birthing methods and filled with gratitude for the gift of experiencing both in one birth,” she continued. “The incredible wisdom and skill of my midwives and surgeons is a marvel, and each practice is equally important for all woman to have access to. I’m grateful to have a healthy, beautiful baby and even more grateful for my female body and the power and strength she holds. Childbirth is an incredible rite of passage for a woman. I’m proud to have made the journey and honored to be holding the ultimate reward.
“Welcome to the world, baby Johnson.”
Cooke Johnson, whose latest song to release is “Livin' Ain't Killed Me Yet,” debuted her baby bump on stage during a performance in March at the annual Country Radio Seminar (CRS) in Nashville, Tennessee, covering Whitney Houston’s iconic anthem, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me).” She and Johnson welcomed Baby No. 1 shortly before their second wedding anniversary. They tied the knot in July 2021 in a stunning wedding ceremony at Bald Mountain Camps Resort in Rangley, Maine.
