Being a first time mother definitely isn’t easy, but that doesn’t mean things will necessarily be easier when you’re ready for baby number two, although you’ll certainly have a lot more wisdom than the first time around.
A new poll finds that 84% of moms say there are some major differences between being a mother of one and being a mom of two, with 39% of moms say they worried less and had less anxiety with their second baby.
Of course having two babies comes with some major challenges, with 71% of moms saying the biggest challenge is having to split their attention between their two children, while 47% say the biggest challenge is just getting out the door.
But there are a lot of lessons moms learn with their first kid that makes things easier when they have a second child. According to 63% moms the biggest lesson they learned is that they don’t need every possible gadget in order to make their child happy.Other top lessons learned include:
- Each kid is totally different so follow their lead (53%)
- Embracing more confidence as a parent (51%)
- Go with the flow or go crazy (49%)
- It’s okay if I can’t do it all (48%)
- I must trust my gut, even if not everyone agrees (44%)
- When I need help, I must ask for it (41%)
- The hard moments pass quickly (36%)
- Being with a newborn isn’t as stressful (34%)
- A baby doesn’t really need shoes (34%)
