Trends come and go in fashion, but if you wait around long enough, styles come back around. The fashion world has been feeling nostalgic for the early 2000s recently and looks that were big back then are once again popular. Ready or not, here are the 2000s-inspired fashion trends that areinagain.
- Platform sandals- Back in the late 90s and early 2000s, pretty much everyone owned a pair of black platform sandals with giant rubber soles and thick elastic bands, made popular bySteve Madden. They’re not practical, but they’re popular once again.
- Button-up cardigans- This wardrobe staple can be worn over camisole tank tops or alone as a top and thanks to celebs like Bella Hadid, now the look is back in.
- Knotted headbands- The accessory made popular by Blair Waldorf from “Gossip Girl” is having a resurgence in popularity.
- Heeled flip flops- This footwear trend is back and we’re shaking our heads.
- Velour tracksuits- The early 2000s style has been creeping back in and all we can say is at least they’re comfortable.
- Seashell necklaces- Blame VSCO girls for bringing this look back and feel free to leave it for them.
- Tie-dye- We saw the bright, colorful trend everywhere this summer and on everything from accessories to sweatshirts.
- Tube tops- Also making a quiet return? Tube tops, for some reason.
- Colorful lenses- Glasses with colorful lenses are trendy again and maybe we should all get in on this one because it might be nice to see the world through rose-colored glasses these days.
