Deciding what to wear is an ongoing challenge for a lot of us, but when it comes to getting dressed for a date? It’s even harder. Fortunately, matchmaker and former fashion execLisa Ronisis here to help. She offers her expertise on what to wear on a couple different types of dates so you can look your best when the pressure is on.
- For a first date- The stakes are super high on an all-important first date and Lisa makes it easy to know how to dress. “My rule for the first date is black on the bottom,” she says. “Pair the pants with a very feminine top.” She says heels are a must to “lift you up and make you feel feminine” and to complete the look, she suggests throwing a soft jacket over the top.
- For a party- If you’re going out with your new-ish beau to a party, Lisa recommends a dress that’s sexy, feminine and comfy. “Feeling easy and breezy in what you wear is important, so don’t go too short or too revealing,” she says. “Make sure when you walk out the door, you’re comfortable—so you can focus on your date, not your clothes.”
- Meeting the family- When it’s time to meet your partner’s family for the first time, Lisa has a very specific suggestion: a sweater dress. She calls it “classy yet elegant and casual” and advises wearing it with opaque tights and booties with a little heel for this important relationship milestone.
