How to avoid "panic buying"!!

Welcome to 2020 – the year that turned a lot of us into amateur doomsday preppers. Due to the coronavirus, people are panic-buying hand sanitizer, toilet paper, canned goods, and more. It’s to the point where some businesses are even limiting the number of things people can buy to stop shoppers from filling up their entire cart with anxiety goods.

The coronavirus situation isn’t great, and your nervousness is normal, but panic-buying is only gonna make this bad situation worse.Because it’s not even helping. That’s according to psychotherapist Nick Blackburn, who says people are trying to “solve” their anxiety with supplies – but end up feeling even worse when they get to the store and see things are running low. It’s like being stuck in a hysteria loop.

Need help resisting your urge to fill your closet with cans of beans? The first step to coping with the outbreak is to stay informed with quality information, from reputable sources. Like skip that coronavirus email chain your mom or nana sent your way.Next, use this as your chance to plan ahead. Blackburn believes just the act of making a plan alone can lessen your anxiety without making any purchases at all.

The compulsion to feel like you’re “doing something” is normal since this whole thing is making us feel like we have no control. But with a little personal responsibility and a whole lot of chill pills, we can make it through this without any riots over toilet paper.
