Lucky for us,the Silent Generation isn’t taking their name too literally and these 90-somethings are opening up about what our generation should miss out on in our lifetime. Here’s what the people who are close to cracking triple-digits say they regretted most about during their very full lives.
- Not loving more. You might expect to hear that people in their 90s might regret missing out on professional accomplishments, but when writer Lydia Sohn asked one older gentleman if he wished he had done more in his career, he told her: "No, I wish I'd loved more.”#Priorites.
- Not staying fit.If 90-year-old Krishnamoorty Dasu could give some advice to his younger self it would be to “keep your mind and body fit by reading and rumination and through walking exercises." He also recommends eating in moderation.
- Vitamins. They’re supposed to have all sorts of benefits but 100-year-old doctor,Ephraim Engleman, said taking one daily isn’t even worth it. He also says he doesn’t “encourage going to a lot of doctors either."This might be something Ephraim needs to work out with himself though.
- Not starting to save earlier. According to 90-somethings, we should have started saving for retirement years ago.Pam Zeldin, at 94 says to “start as early as you can to make yourself financially stable for when you get older, so that you don't have to worry."
There’s nothing better than the wisdom of elders so go see all of the mistakes the Silent Generation warns us not to repeatHERE.
