There are a lot of people on your social media feeds pretending to be a doctor, but wouldn’t it be better to get some advice from real ones instead of a meme your mom’s friend shared?Thought so.Here’s what real medical experts say you can do to improve your health and boost your immune system RIGHT NOW.
- Protect your lungs. There’s no time like the present to quit smoking. PhysicianTom Wingfield says we should be avoiding anything that damages our lungs right now. If you're stressed, put down your Juul and go for a jog. Wingfield says some “general aerobic exercise will help your lungs.”
- Get some D. Vitamin D that is. General Practitioner Amir Khan believes a vitamin D supplement couldn’t hurt right now, especially since getting it from the sun naturally isn’t a thing if we’re stuck inside. Just to clarify, it’s not a magic cure to the coronavirus, but it could help boost your immune system a bit.
- Rest as soon as you start to notice symptoms. One of the biggest things COVID-19 sufferers experience is at least one day of fatigue. “Your body is using all its energy to fight a virus that is infecting cell after cell,” says Khan. “Even with mild symptoms, you’ll have some days when you feel fine and other days when you are tired and achy.” Just like you should be drinking water before you feel thirsty, you should be resting before you feel tired.
There’s a lot of confusion about the coronavirus out in the world right now. Cut down your levels of it with more advice from real doctorsHERE.
