HACKED: Cyber Thieves Threaten to Release Dirt on Trump
Hackers who launched a massive cyber-attack on the New York law firm of prominent entertainment lawyer Allen Grubman are now threatening to release dirt on Donald Trump if their ransom demands aren't met.
The hackers, known as REvil, claim to have stolen confidential files on all of Grubman's celebrity clients including Elton John,Lady Gaga and Madonna, and have doubled their ransom demand to $42 million. They also claim to have damning information on President Trump that they say will be made public in a week if they don't receive the ransom. It's not clear what information they could possibly have on Trump since he has never been represented by Grubman. But hackers are telling the president to urge Grubman to pay the $42 million if he doesn't want the information getting out.
So far, Grubman's law firm has said it will not negotiate with the hackers. The FBI is investigating the case as an act of international terrorism.
