OPEN IN AMERICA: No More TV Love Scenes
Hollywood studios return to work this week on movies and TV shows. Yet the scripts have been re-written for a COVID-19 world.
You’ll notice a difference when new TV episodes arrive in the fall. Due to physical distancing, you won’t see any romantic scenes. Kissing is banned. So is fighting.
Actors are encouraged to stay eight-feet apart in every scene. If they must be closer, that scene should be as brief as possible without dialogue.
Hair and makeup stylists are only partially back to work. The lead actors will get professionally styled. Other cast members must do it themselves.
Studio audiences will be limited to 25 percent of capacity. You’ll notice smaller crowds for the talk shows and game shows. Silver lining: Your chances have improved on The Price Is Right of being called to “Come on down!”
