Some lessons on saving money that the lockdown has provided!

The coronavirus has made it pretty clear what’s really important in life. Things like friends, family, health, and of course, having lots and lots of money in the bank.In that light, here’s what some people have said has been their biggest money-saving lesson during all this and what they’re planning to keep doing long term.

  • Kate. COVID-19 might have been the cure for Kate’s shopping addiction. She says she would buy “a new outfit for every occasion” to the point her “wardrobe was bulging.” But being stuck at home made her realize she was a full-blown hoarder so she’s spent the lockdown selling things on eBay and Facebook. It’s been a good influx of cash since she’s also been furloughed and she’s planning on buying used from now on, but only when she absolutely needs something.
  • Jen. Like many of us, Jen has become her own barista as of late and it’s been a welcome switch for her bank account. She’s traded her daily trips to Starbucks in on her daily commute for a new milk frother and she’s not turning back.
  • Helen.Helen’s new personal trainer is giving her better results than her gym ever did, and the best part is she’s free. That’s because her new personal trainer is Helen. She’s switched to doing online classes from home and now she’s probably just going to cancel her gym membership and work on her gains on her body and in her bank account.
