KENTUCKY DERBY: Fans Will Attend
The Kentucky Derby will be run in front of fans.
The race has been moved from its traditional May date to September 5th. And Churchill Downs officials plan to have fans both in the grandstand and on the infield. However, the size of the crowd will be greatly reduced from the usual 150,000 -- probably by about 60 percent.
Race officials are hoping that ticket holders will voluntarily give up their seats this year to meet their reduced-capacity goal.
