DAD DISCOVERS HIS POKEMON CARD COLLECTION IS WORTH $44,000
A dad in England just realized that his set of Pokémon cards -- given to him by his mother when he was a kid -- is now worth $44,000.
34-year-old Nigel Brookes was given the cards by his mother back in 1999, when he stepped up and stopped other kids from conning his then-seven-year-old brother out of his best cards.
As a reward, his mom gave him a full set of cards. And, Nigel admits he didn’t even like Pokémon.
But, he does now because he’s been sitting on a rare collector's item for 21 years that has only increased in value.
Nigel -- who now has three kids of his own -- is putting the set up for auction later this month, and these cards are expected to attract attention from all around the world.
Some have even called his collection “a Holy Grail for serious Pokémon aficionados all over the world.”
