CDC adjusts some COVID numbers...just WOW

A new report from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) shows a vast majority of people who have died from COVID-19 had an underlying health condition – to the tune of 94%. In fact, just six-percent of cases found that COVID-19 was the only cause of death.

The figures come out of diagnosed cases from February 1stto August 22nd. For the record, the leading underlying conditions related to death from COVID are the flu and pneumonia, respiratory failure, hypertensive disease, diabetes, and vascular and unspecified dementia.

Meanwhile, a top health official is stressing the importance of making right decisions in halting the spread of the coronavirus. At an event in Minnesota, Dr.DeborahBirxsaid she's very confident that community spread can be stoppedif people wear face coverings, practice social distancing and avoid crowds. Birx added that wearing masks and social distancing gives us freedom right now, but the goal is fewer cases come fall.

  • Where do we stand with COVID-19?According to the latest numbers from Johns Hopkins, the United States has confirmed just over five-point-nine million diagnosed cases across the United States since the beginning – with just over 183-thousand have succumbed to the illness. In good news?More than two-point-one million people have recovered.
