Fresh out of at-home date ideas? Lots of us are feeling that way since we’ve been doing them for months now. But one source of inspiration you may not have thought of yet? Your favorite adventure movies. These films can help break up your routine and bring the fun to socially distanced dates.
- Ride bikes- Hop on your bicycles and start pedalling like that scene in “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.” When the wind blows through your hair, you may even burst into song.
- Lace up your skates- If you haven’t already embraced this quarantine trend, dust off your roller skates and go for a spin, inspired by “Whip It!” Hold hands with your S.O. as you glide down the sidewalk together, or at least try not to fall for two minutes.
- Give ziplining a try- Find an open zipline course near you and fly through the sky like the ladies in “Girl’s Trip.”
- Go glamping- Pitch a tent in the woods or your backyard, but bring all the comforts of home like the kids in “Moonrise Kingdom.” We’re talking a record player, books and cool outfits to make your time in mother nature that much better.
- Go sightseeing- You don’t have to travel far from home for an adventure. Let “Amelie” encourage you to enjoy your city with a fresh perspective and take photos of your escapades.
- Cook something new- No one’s suggesting you cook 524 recipes like Julie did in “Julie and Julia,” but you and your sweetie can use a cookbook to find something new to whip up together.
- Play a new sport- Make exercising more exciting by trying a new sport as a couple. Find some YouTube videos to show you the basics of ballet, like “Center Stage,” soccer like “Bend It Like Beckham,” or boxing like in “Million Dollar Baby.”
- Float in a pool- For something more relaxing, find a swimming pool to float in together, drinks in hand, like they did in “Palm Springs.” Just try to skip that whole time warp thing.
