Super-charge your workplace with two words: THANK YOU

Want to know a super easy and free way to supercharge your workday?Be grateful. And we’re talking going beyond the “I am just grateful to have a job” type of appreciation. Because experts have shown gratitude has some seriously incredible benefits.

A recent study has shown gratitude can lead to “better sleep, more exercise, reduced symptoms of physical pain, lower levels of inflammation, lower blood pressure, and a host of other things we associate with better health.” And at work, when gratitude is a part of an organization’s culture, employees’ well being increases; they look forward to coming to work. And on top of all that job satisfaction, collaboration, and productivity all go up as well.

Sounds incredible, right? But how exactly do you increase your gratitude levels? Here are a few easy ways to do it:

  • Gratitude Time.During your week, simply set aside some time to write down a list of things you’re thankful for. The list can be long or short, and you can go on for as long as you want to, but the simple act of writing “I am grateful for...” can make a serious impact.
  • Send handwritten thank-you notes.Put pen to paper and let your coworkers know you appreciate them. Even for something as trivial as “thanks for washing your hands.” Going that extra mile will make their day, make you feel good, and maybe it will catch on and the positive vibes will keep on spreading.
