The prospect of a second coronavirus stimulus isn't looking good. Senate Democrats have blocked the latest bill.
Although a preliminary vote was in favor, 52-to-47, Republicans do not have enough votes to overcome a filibuster on the $300 billion proposal. The vote was split along party lines with Republican Rand Paul voting with Democrats.
The bill included additional unemployment benefits, funding for schools and liability protections for businesses and healthcare facilities. Democrats opposed the bill as too narrow and too small, favoring a $3 trillion package that passed the House in the spring.
