Teacher has some requests for parents as they get ready for a Zoom meeting

Most parents are focused on how their children are doing during their Zoom calls and online lessons, but it turns out, there are some people that didn’t get the memo. At a Palm Beach county school board meeting, elementary school teacher Edith Pride raised concerns about some inappropriate incidents she’s seen on camera during remote learning. “Parents, please make sure that you have on proper clothing when you are walking in front of or behind the child's computer," she said. “We've seen them in their drawers, their bras, and everything else.”

In addition to not being naked, Pride cautions parents who are helping their kids at the computer to “please not appear with big joints in your hand and cigarettes.” Also of concern? Parents swearing and using inappropriate language while talking in the background of a lesson while their child’s computer is not muted.

But these on-camera issues aren’t limited to Pride’s classes. A number of other teachers in the district have reported seeing the same nonsense. An anonymous teacher says she even saw a dad with no shirt on drinking a beer before noon, as well as parents smoking pot on screen. “This is not a party,” Pride reminds. “This is school.”
