HOLLYWOOD: Getting Back to Work
Hollywood’s unions and studios reached an agreement yesterday to resume production of movies and TV shows after being shut down for six months due to the pandemic.
Both sides finally agreed on safety protocols and other COVID-19 issues including testing, PPE, crew size, and sick day compensation. The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers said in a statement, "The health and safety of those who work in the motion picture and television industry is and remains our top priority. To ensure that employers are able to provide a safe and healthful workplace, the industry undertook four months of thoughtful dialogue and meaningful negotiations with the multi-union bargaining committee."
Under the agreement, cast and crew will be tested before their first day of work and then regularly tested during production.
