With all the worries couples had to deal with in lockdown, at least they didn’t have to worry about cheating, right? Not so much. Talk about something that becomes virtually impossible when you’re stuck inside with someone 24/7. Well...according to a new report, the bad news is that cheating didn’t exactly go down to zero in 2020,and the worse news is that it’s back in a big way.
You might think when it came time for everyone to tighten up their budget that secret dating profiles were the first things to go. But sadly, no.Ashley Madison, aka the dating site for affairs, just reported that their numbers only took a 10% dip between early March and early April this year. And now they’re saying the subscriptions are back to normal and then some.
What’s driving the surge? Ashley Madison says the biggest thing is that some spouses didn’t want to have any sex during lockdown. A total of 60% of users surveyed said their partner didn't initiate sex once from mid-March until early September.
- And to underscore how big of a deal sex is to these would-be cheaters, 25% of them said the lack of it was the most distressing part of the entire ‘rona crisis. And surely their family and friends who are at risk will understand that they were more upset about the lack of nookie over their health.
