The British government is clearing the way for a coronavirus vaccine study that will infect volunteers with the virus. Researchers say young, healthy volunteers will be deliberately infected in a controlled setting and some will receive an experimental vaccine.

Why would someone consider such a thing? Health experts who support these so-called “challenge trials” like this one say they're more efficient and require far fewer volunteers. They say when all volunteers are exposed to the virus, researchers can delivery scientific data more quickly.

Meanwhile, President Trump was campaigning in Pennsylvania yesterday and at a rally, said that if he wins the election, his administration will have safe vaccines that end the pandemic, while Joe Biden would prolong it.

  • Meanwhile, life could be a little closer to normal for folks in California and Las Vegas. California's department of Health and Human Services will be giving new guidelines regarding theme park re-openings as well as an update on the tiered status of some counties. Over in Vegas, MGM Resorts is planning to have some of its shows on the Las Vegas Strip – that includes mainstays David Copperfield and Carrot Top, which are set to return next month. MGM confirmed it would bring back seven shows at its three resorts starting November 6th– though audience sizes will be limited and other measures will be in place.
  • Where do we stand with COVID-19?According to the latest numbers from Johns Hopkins, the United States has confirmed just over eight-point-two-million diagnosed cases across the United States since the beginning – with just over 220-thousand have succumbed to the illness. • ONE MORE THING! Could baby shampoo and mouthwash be a key to slowing the spread of COVID-19? Maybe.According to a new study, nasal and oral rinses like mouthwash can deactivate human coronaviruses. Researchers tested a number of products including a neti pot, peroxide sore-mouth cleansers, mouthwash and one-percent baby shampoo, to see how each would lower the viral load of coronavirus strains in a patient’s mouth. Their findings reveal most of these products effectively shut down virus particles in less than two minutes.
