WALMART: Removes Guns Displays Over "Civil Unrest" Concerns
Walmart has taken down gun and ammunition displays at thousands of its U.S. store over fears of "civil unrest."
The largest retailer on the globe said Thursday that guns and ammo will still be available, but only by request. Firearms are available in about half of the retailer's 4,700 stores in the U.S.
Spokesman Kory Lundberg said in a statement Thursday, "We have seen some isolated civil unrest and as we have done on several occasions over the last few years, we have moved our firearms and ammunition off the sales floor as a precaution for the safety or our associates and customers."
