Halloween costumes for pets are on the rise this year ... and there’s a good reason why.
Because people can’t celebrate the holiday the way they want to or are used to, they are dressing up their furry friends to bring some happiness to an otherwise stressful time. According to the National Retail Federation, sales of pet costumes are not only up this year, but many stores can’t keep dog and cat costumes on the shelves. A spokesperson for the National Retail Federation explained, "People can't celebrate in person in the ways that they used to, so you're seeing people try to ... have a little joy and share a little joy, in a time when people are dealing with a lot of uncertainty.”
