One of the companies working on a coronavirus vaccine is preparing to ship 20-million doses by next month. Moderna confirms that’ll happen if its clinical trials prove the drug works and the FDA approves it.
Moderna says 30-thousand volunteers are enrolled in the study and that they could have enough data to seek emergency approval by the end of November. At least three other companies are in late-stage trials.
On a related note, the ‘just under the surface’ feud between President Trump and NIH boss Dr. Anthony Fauci appears to have busted wide open. In an interview withthe "Washington Post", he called out the White House for allowing its strategy for fighting the virus to be shaped in part by a neuroradiologist with no training in the field of infectious disease. He also said the US will be “in a world of hurt” in the coming months. President Trump is hitting back – and while campaigning this weekend suggested he’ll soon fire Fauci.
