Forecasters are admitting they're not sure what to expect from now Tropical Depression Eta [[AY duh]]. As it remains over Central America, there are a lot of variables making its track and strength more uncertain than normal.
National Weather Service Senior Meteorologist Robert Garcia says while the latest forecast track has it moving further south, we can't focus on the cone. He also says the former hurricane could regain its strength as it heads toward Florida this weekend. At last check, the storm remains a tropical depression, and is currently dumping heavy rain and causing flash flooding in Honduras.
They say Eta could reach Cuba by Sunday and possibly Florida by Monday. If Eta makes landfall in the U.S., it would break the record for the most named storms to make a U.S. landfall in one season.
