Erin Andrews (Sports Sidelines and Dancing with the Stars) was diagnosed with cervical cancer in September.
In a new interview with Sports Illustrated's The MMQB, Andrews opened up for the first time about keeping her diagnosis a secret for months."Throughout my career, all I've ever wanted is to just fit in," Andrews said. "That I had this extra baggage with the scandal, I didn't want to be any different. I felt that way about being sick too. I don't want players or coaches to look at me differently."
Andrews went into surgery in mid-October and despite doctors orders was back at work 5 days later.
In mid-November, Andrews was told that her margins were clear and that there would be no need for radiation or chemotherapy.
"Such an incredible weight had been lifted off her shoulders," her father Steve Andrews told Sports Illustrated. "I try not to think about what happened to her too much. But when I do, and I consider the enormity of what Erin has endured, I'll often just sit down and cry."
Wishing healing and happiness for Erin!
