A vision expert who helps out athletic teams believes that smartphones are ruining the abilities of kids to play sports.
Dr. Sherylle Calder, who is currently helping England’s World Cup rugby team, says she’s noticed a decline in motor skills in young people – even over the past six years.
She explains that people develop visual motor skills by "climbing trees and walking on walls" and that – because kids are spending so much time these days with their noses in their smartphones – they just don’t have these skills anymore.
It's scary to think about, but we really don't know exactly how constant smartphone usage will effect our children.
