An alligator in Pine Bluff isn't completely unheard of but as Trey Reid of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission says, "it's kind of a needle in a haystack" type of find. This alligator was spotted near Shepherd Island Road in the backwaters of the Arkansas River.
Trey says the alligator is likely in the area because of flooding. We are seeing a lot of animals in locations that we usually don't because of the rising water. If an alligator is seen in Arkansas, it's usually in the southeastern or southwestern part of the state, according to Trey.
